This morning, we woke up in our hotel outside of De Smet
Had breakfast at a local restaurant
Drove across a good part of South Dakota, with a rest stop along the highway for a picnic lunch, then continued on through a small portion of the badlands, then hit the famed Wall Drug
Where we had an ice cream break,
then we headed to our camp site, at Oreville Campground in the Black Hills National Forest.

Hi — Sarah gave us your website address and we’ve enjoyed reading about the ups and downs of cross country travel. Can’t wait to read your blog about last night’s adventure! Sarah filled us in — hope Tyler has warmed up!
Tyler is fine, and we meant to get some warmer stuff today while we were out and about, but in the end we are just hoping for a warmer night. Oh, and Tyler has some towels over him…
Oh, did I say hotel? I of course meant to write motel. Our first night without hotel provided WiFi, so I am falling behind on pictures…
Ohh….! DeLuxe accomodations, for sure!
The sign inside read “Please clean fish and birds in the cleaning room.” Gives you a sense of the usual clientele. When I saw the door that read cleaning room, I assumed it meant laundry!
Free Ice Water!
Wall Drug!
Get a Milk Shake!
Wall Drug!
Yes, the signage is incessant! We had to stop!
5¢ Coffee!
Fresh Donuts!
